In an ideal world this website wouldn’t exist, a client would acknowledge the importance of having web copy before the design starts. Needless to say it’s very important, content is king and people are beginning to understand that. However, back over in reality some project schedules and budgets don’t allow for web copy to be written before the design phase.
Typically I start a project with a call or meeting. I will give you some ideas of how I can help if you don’t have a specific request. For straightforward projects I will cut right to the chase and crank out the designs. I use the latest standards, tools, and systems for fast and high quality production design. When a project requires more custom work I can craft an approach that is flexible and customized and include brainstorming, concepting, and research. When projects are being implemented, I can engage directly with developers to create specifications, cut assets, and get right into GitHub.
I like designing software because I like making technology and information more accessible to people. I like understanding people and crafting solutions so simple and straightforward there is no selling needed. Nerds have been making their computers do neat things and salesmen have been selling those tricks forever. But neat tricks and shiny marketing alone only get people in the door. I focus on getting more people coming back by being genuinely useful and human.
